Marine Lubricants
Engineered for reliable performance at sea.
VORTEX Marine Lubricants are engineered to protect marine engines and onboard systems operating under continuous loads, elevated temperatures, salt-laden environments and demanding duty cycles. Formulated with carefully selected base oils and advanced additive technology, the range delivers dependable wear protection, engine cleanliness, oxidation stability, corrosion resistance and reliable lubrication across recreational, commercial and industrial marine applications.
From high-speed outboard engines and leisure craft to fishing vessels, workboats and ocean-going ships, VORTEX provides application-focused lubricant solutions developed around engine design, operating conditions, fuel characteristics and equipment-manufacturer requirements.

Product range
Small craft and recreational marine oils
Two-Stroke Outboard Engine Oils — 2T
Ashless marine lubricants developed for water-cooled two-stroke outboard engines. Selected formulations are suitable for premix and oil-injection systems requiring NMMA TC-W3®-type performance, supporting clean combustion, piston protection and reduced deposit formation.
Four-Stroke Outboard Engine Oils — 4T
Designed for modern four-stroke outboard engines exposed to high rotational speeds, continuous operation, moisture and saltwater environments. Selected products are available for applications requiring appropriate API performance and NMMA FC-W®-type characteristics.
Inboard and Stern-Drive Engine Oils
Formulated for petrol or diesel-powered inboard and stern-drive engines requiring dependable protection against wear, oxidation, deposits, rust and corrosion under recreational or commercial marine service.
Commercial marine engine oils
Trunk-Piston Engine Oils — TPEO
Developed for medium-speed marine diesel engines in which a single lubricant commonly serves the crankcase, bearings, pistons and cylinder liners. These oils provide detergency, dispersancy, alkalinity retention, wear protection and resistance to contamination under prolonged operating conditions.
TPEO products may be offered in selected SAE viscosity grades and Base Number levels to suit engine design, fuel quality, fuel-sulphur content and manufacturer recommendations.
Auxiliary-Engine Oils
Designed for auxiliary diesel engines, generator sets and other onboard power systems requiring reliable lubrication, piston cleanliness, oxidation control and protection during extended operation.
Slow-speed crosshead-engine oils
Marine Cylinder Oils
Specialized lubricants developed for the cylinder lubrication of low-speed crosshead diesel engines. These formulations provide controlled alkalinity to neutralize acidic combustion products while protecting cylinder liners and piston rings against corrosive wear, scuffing, deposits and excessive liner polishing.
Marine cylinder oils are available in selected SAE 50 formulations with different Base Number levels for use with the appropriate fuel type, engine design and operating conditions.
Marine System Oils
Formulated for the crankcase and system lubrication of low-speed crosshead engines. These oils support bearing protection, piston cooling, water separation, oxidation resistance, system cleanliness and reliable lubricant circulation during continuous operation.

Available viscosity grades and Base Number levels depend on the specific product, engine design, fuel sulphur level and market requirements.
Application-focused selection
Marine lubricants must be selected according to the specific engine and operating conditions. Outboard oils, trunk-piston engine oils, system oils and cylinder oils perform different functions and are not interchangeable.
For slow-speed crosshead engines, the correct cylinder-oil Base Number and feed rate must be determined from the engine manufacturer’s recommendations, fuel-sulphur content, engine condition and operating profile. Excessive or insufficient alkalinity can contribute to deposits, liner distress or corrosive wear.
For outboard and small-craft engines, the required two-stroke or four-stroke specification, viscosity grade and certification status must always be confirmed from the equipment manufacturer’s manual.
Quality and reliability
From base-oil and additive selection through formulation, blending, laboratory verification, filling and final packaging, VORTEX Marine Lubricants are managed through defined quality-control procedures. This disciplined approach supports accurate viscosity, controlled alkalinity, additive consistency and dependable batch-to-batch performance for domestic and international marine markets.
VORTEX also provides technical support to assist customers in selecting suitable products according to vessel type, engine design, fuel characteristics, operating conditions and required performance level.
